Everyone! Look at this cute invitation!!! This is an artwork done by my sister and I'm so proud of her! I'm persuading her to design invitation and sell the templates online. If you like her work, please comment to encourage a budding designer:)
Baby G's invitation. Inside the felt cake is meringues by Creole.
Bday Party! So thoughtful of my sister to create a baby corner for toddlers to hang out in. Baby G had so much fun during her party!
Cakes done by Hotel Mulia pastry chef.
The 3d background, all is Styrofoam made and its supposed to look like a dollhouse room. Its such a refreshing idea; we are all bored seeing the Disney and Sanrio characters.
After the party ended, the little ones get to play around and take pics with the decor.
We received AJ's birthday invitation few weeks before the party. Card was made by Watermark (Girl! You certainly make some creative stuff!) Usually children just received stickers for their names in birthday parties, like Baby J's party, but AJ's has a cute name tag slash game ticket.
This was one of the most impressive birthday parties I have been invited to. Look at that cute 3D elephant behind me and Baby J! When I walked into the hall, I was greeted with colors and stalls for games. Its just incredible. Everything was done neatly down to the lettering of the stalls.
So many goodies from this party! First we were given a zippered bag to pack in goodies, then we took a helium balloon (one for each child), picked out a canvas school bag, took cotton candy (a must take for moi!), popcorn, sadly the candy booth was a no-zone before the birthday song. The games at the stalls looked fun to play but I was too embarrassed to be the only adult to compete with the tikes and Baby J barely could walk and play.Looking for the birthday boy whom was overcrowded by the guests outside the hall. They had sung finish the birthday song and had let loose the balloons. It was pretty exciting aside from the blazing heat so we snucked into aircon hall. We were so beat from our puncak trip, which we just arrived back to Jakarta in the morning before AJ's party, and plus the overwhelming birthday party, we had to leave the party early.
My little precious is now 1yr old! Her daddy wanted to make a big birthday party to invite friends and family to celebrate her first birthday, while her mommy wants a small intimate birthday at home with close friends and family. So we compromised - 2 parties, one at home during her actual birthday, which falls on weekday and the birthday bash on Saturday.
I was down with cold and fever few days before Baby J's birthday and I tried to be efficient with the time and energy to prep the birthday table.I sketched out layout, planned on what to buy and started piecing things together. Here's the list of items on table:
Printed tissue from Index
Teddy bear from Baby J's newborn arrival gift hamper
Lollipops from Miniapolis hallway (saw similar ones in Kemciks PP cashiers)
Small glass cake stands from Sogo that's affordable at $6-$40, used Kate Spade round gift box to boost height
Cake stand from Alessandro on sale at $20+
Gold frame with Photoshop artwork done by Moi
Popcorn maker from Ace Hardware
Pink bowl for popcorn bought as a set from Magic Kitchen
Something felt missing out at the back. They have these cute helium balloons in Kemciks and we got the Hello Kitty Princess balloon. Now the table looks quite neat.... Flowers are to be picked up the next day. I had pre-ordered carnation balls, roses, and more Sedap Malam (sweet smelling flowers) from my street flower vendor on Senopati.
Finally the birthday itself! Here's how the table look before our family come and devour the cupcakes. Even Hello Kitty seemed to be quite taken with the cake. She kept looming and close to sniffing the cake with the cute sugar mices on the cake.

2 days before Baby J's birthday bash on Saturday, there were bombings in Jakarta. I didn't have the mood for birthday party and was about to cancel the whole party, even though I had paid most of the vendors. In the end, after some persuasions, we decided to go on with the party.
We did not expect a large crowd as people and guests would be hesitant to come out, but some close friends came and celebrated Baby J's birthday. Thank you to those who came and enjoyed the party!
More pics from photographer to come in the next posts.
